April 1st might be known for pranks and jokes, but this year, it was all about charity and a whole lot of bravery. On this April Fools' Day, a group of volunteers decided to do something daring for a good cause: they got tattoos… blindfolded. No, this wasn’t an elaborate April Fools’ joke—this was a real event aimed at supporting four incredible local charities that impact Yelm, WA.
The Blindfolded Tattoo Charity Event was a unique experience that raised an impressive $4,137.00, all of which went directly to local nonprofit organizations benefiting the Yelm community. But the real question is: would you be willing to get a tattoo blindfolded, knowing it’s for a good cause?
The Brave Volunteers and the Charities They Supported
The event featured four courageous individuals who volunteered to undergo the nerve-wracking experience of receiving a tattoo without the benefit of sight. Each participant was paired with a local charity they were passionate about, and the event encouraged attendees to donate to these causes.
Line Roy, the city of Yelm's Communications and Recreation Coordinator, raised $2,052 for South Puget Sound Habitat for Humanity, a nonprofit that helps provide affordable housing for families in need.
Line and Hannah( DNT) proudly present a $2,052 check to South Puget Sound Habitat for Humanity, supporting community development and housing initiatives. Tad Stillwell, owner of The TLS Insurance Agency, chose to raise money for Raise for Rowyn, a non-profit organization based in Tenino Washington, who is dedicated to offering emotional and financial support to families coping with the heartbreak of losing a child.
Tad and Marcos (DNT) are pleased to present a $788.00 donation check to Raise for Rowyn. Kasey Cutledge, owner of Get Fit Yelm and Get Fit Tenino, raised funds for One Net Yelm, a group that helps provide essential resources, programs, and connections for those in need, making a positive impact on the entire community.
Kasey and Shelby (DNT) present a check for $693.00 to One Net Yelm, raised from the Blindfolded Tattoo Event. Kayla Walker, former owner of The RIOT, chose The Yard, an organization that provides mentorship, education, and recreational opportunities for youth in the area.

These organizations work tirelessly to improve the quality of life for people in Yelm, and the volunteers' willingness to participate in such a bold challenge made a huge impact.
The Event's Success: A Community Coming Together
Though getting a tattoo while blindfolded is certainly a bold move, the event was about much more than just the thrill. It was a chance for the community to come together and support causes that make a real difference. Attendees watched as the brave tattoo recipients sat in the chair, blindfolded, while the team at Dancing Needles Tattoo worked their magic. The atmosphere was full of excitement, anticipation, and, most of all, support.
The event raised a total of $4,137.00, a fantastic amount that will go a long way toward supporting the important work these charities do. People from all walks of life donated generously, knowing that their contributions would help provide housing, health support, youth programs, and more for those in need in Yelm.

Would You Do It?
Now, the real question remains: would you be willing to get a tattoo blindfolded for a good cause? The volunteers who took part in the event certainly showed a lot of courage. And while getting a tattoo is a personal choice for many, doing so without the ability to see what’s happening takes things to a whole new level of bravery.

Final Thoughts
The Blindfolded Tattoo Charity Event wasn’t just about tattoos—it was about community, courage, and a collective effort to make a positive impact. It was a reminder that sometimes, we have to take a leap of faith to support the causes that matter most. And while April 1st is typically filled with jokes and tricks, this year, it was a day for giving back, raising awareness, and showing what it means to come together for the greater good.
So, would you be willing to get a tattoo blindfolded? After all, it’s all for a good cause.
